Park City

We spent the last week of April up in Park City!! Even though the location was pretty close to home it was a great get away!!

We went to the Park.

The only picture of me, I guess when you take the pictures you aren't in them :)

We built caves on rainy mornings.

Lyla played with doors, much to Jacks dislike.

Jack made beds for everyone to rest on, and with no bedtimes their was lots of resting!

We watched movies.

We had friends come up and play.

We went swimming.

Lyla got really good at jumping to daddy, who had to be on the watch at all times because she would just jump without warning.

Jack actually started putting his whole head under the water and would swim around like quite a little fish!

Emmett got some good crawling practice in, he is such a good baby.

The activity center "The Mine" was a daily must. The kids loved the finger painting, cookie decoration, wii playing, bead necklace, and the shuffleboard!

I loved the contrast in this photo.

We had a lot of fun playing "find the sleeping Lyla". She would fall asleep anywhere and everywhere, anytime.

BBQ'ing at the pool.

Lyla received a new hat from the outlets. It is adorable.

We seriously had so much fun and really lucked out with excellent weather all week. Who knew that it could hit the 70's in Park City in April?!?

Branch Primary Easter Egg Hunt

There is new park in our community that served as a great place to hold the annual Branch Primary Easter Egg Hunt. This is one of the most attended primary events we have. The kids had a great time!

This is Halloween

Jack has been talking about this day for about a month now. So much hype I was scared that it may seem a bit anti-climatic. The night did not disappoint.

Lyla thought she had to eat every piece of candy before we reached the next door as evidence by the cerulean airhead in her cute little paw.

We had a lot of fun getting messy carving pumpkins!

There is a pumpkin for each of us in the family. See if you can match the pumpkin to the correct person! Hint: I'm not much of a Tinkerbell fan...I think Vidia is much hotter!

Easter

We had a very traditonal Easter this year. Hung out with the family, watched conference, had a nice ham dinner and of course (my favorite) ate a lot of candy!!

Jack and Lyla all dressed up!

Easter Morning

This was our first ever Easter morning. Jack is finally old enough that I felt we could actually have the Easter Bunny come and he would know what is going on!

Lyla protecting the goods.

Showing of their baskets.

Jack has started doing this really cheesy smile. It is hilarious. He loved his new game by the way. And no it doesn't teach him that girls have cooties!!

Just Playin'

Jack loves to play with Lyla. One might ask how a three year old plays with a four month old. Well he gets down on his tummy and talks to her. It normally ends up with her giggling a lot more than she does for anyone else. She loves her brother and he loves her!! This was one of those moments so I thought I would catch it on film!

Having Fun with Cousins

Last Saturday we had some fun playing with the Martin's!

Lyla and Henry got to show each other their mad rolling skills! Not to mention the screaming contest!!

Jack and Andrew went swimming and got to play all day with each other and Grandpa Rick and Grandma Doris. This is one of the rare moments where they were both sitting still and neither one whining/crying!

Justin, Megan, Sean and I got to do a little Insanity workout, which sadly we did not take pictures of, have some good conversation, and watch a movie. It was a fun day!

Gingerbread Houses 2009

Every year we get together with the Hale Family (and sometimes other friends) to hold our annual Gingerbread House making contest. Typically we make them out of graham crackers but this year we made real gingerbread. Here are the results.

2 Going On 16

Jack has had some big changes in his life lately.
1. Summer Haircut (which I am still mad about, I love his long hair); this haircut made him look about 3 years older.
2. Potty Training; he is nearing up 100% using the toilet this week.
3. Talking; he is finally starting to talk. In fact, Jack has become bored with learning English that he is creating his own language. It's a cross between English and Italian. Balloons are called "Luna's" and many others.
4. Physically; Jack is now jumping down 5+ stairs at a time. Soon we will give him a skateboard to try.
When a kid accomplishes all these things any parent wants to reward but not spoil them. Where do you draw the line? You will notice Jack has a Blackberry and not an iPhone!

Wading Pool on a Dave Ramsey Budget

Jack and his cousin Andrew were going to Grandpa Rick's house for some fun with sprinklers and water. While we were there Sarah said she went to the store to pick up a wading pool for the kids to play in. I think I was asleep in the basement when all this was going on. When I woke up they were done playing and everything cleaned up. I haven't seen the kiddie pool till now as I imported the pictures. I didn't realize that the biggest pool we could afford is the size of a grown man's cereal bowl. To quote Derek Zoolander,"What is this? A pool for ants? It needs to be at least 3 times this size!"

Jack and Andrew and the new blue kiddie pool. (I think we need a bailout package, does anyone have Obama's phone number?)

Jack's Spring Show

Jack loves going to "class" so when it was time for his Spring Show I knew it would be just like another day of "class." There were a few changes, his grandparents were there and Daddy was the one helping him through his exercises. He had lots of fun and probably wishes that Daddy would come every week!

Doing Donkey Kicks (progression for a handstand)

Miss Tia helping with Finish Arms to receive a ribbon.

Jacks favorite part is when they get to play on the parachute.
