Words

My little man Jack isn't big on talking. I know that he can talk because when he is all alone in his room I hear him talking, he just prefers not to do it on command. I think that secretly he just laughs whenever I ask him to say words. So one night when he was actually "preforming" I grabbed the camera to document it!

Jack's Crazy Sore

One night while we were getting Jack ready for his bath we noticed a small bug bite on his back. Two days later it had grown into this huge sore, frantic I called Sean's cousin who lives minutes away and also happens to be a nurse. She ran over and told me he was fine. The next day we luckily had a scheduled well check with his doctor and she took a look at it too. She agreed that he was fine, but no one knows for sure what caused it. Craziness. I am just glad that it is healing well and soon will hopefully be nothing more than a memory (and blog entry).

Good Food

The one thing that I was most looking forward to on this vacation was some good food, and boy did we have some good food. Between the barbecue joints, Mexican restaurants and bluebell ice cream I think that I am still full.

Sean eating some ribs.

The one restaurant that I have heard the most about is Chris Madrid's. I was so excited to actually be going there and eating the famous food. It was fun while we were standing in line to look at all of the t-shirt's that people had hung up from different schools and organizations. Then I see a white dress shirt with a tie that tons of LDS missionaries had signed. The burger was delicious and I just wish that there was some fry sauce to go with the fries.

The Riverwalk

The Riverwalk was my favorite part of San Antonio. It was a lot of fun to walk up and down and see all of the different buildings and restaurants in one tiny little area. Sean and I stayed in a hotel on the Riverwalk so we walked it a lot. I wish we had more pictures to show how fun it was.

El Mercado

Day two involved lots and lots of walking, we walked down the Riverwalk to El Mercado. El Mercado is a big area with Mexican restaurants and shops selling things that you would see in Mexico. Interpretation: millions of shops, everyone selling the same thing. It was lots of fun. We had breakfast at a restaurant there that consisted of the typical tex-mex breakfast: eggs, beans, rice, salsa, and tortillas.

San Antonio Temple

When Sean served in San Antonio the temple was not built yet. It is one of the small temples but it was really beautiful.

Texas Here We Come!!!

Sean TOTALLY surprised me at Christmas with two tickets to San Antonio, Texas!! For those of you who don't know, it is where Sean went on his mission and I have always wanted to go and visit. He tells me stories of yummy food and warm weather, who wouldn't want to go?? After getting Jack all situated with Grandma Martin we were off to the airport!!

We had a lay over in Phoenix that was supposed to be 45 minutes. Once we landed there Sean got us on a flight that was leaving immediately, so that meant no lunch and a 3 hour flight ahead of us. So as soon as we landed in San Antonio we were off to Habanero's Grill.

Sean got the extremely spicy Habanero sauce and LOVED it.

YUMMY!!

New Year's

We spent New Year's Eve this year with a bunch of friends playing games (mostly Rockband) and eating yummy food. The kids had a lot of fun staying up late and playing.
