Trunk or Treating

We decided this year that Jack was old enough to fully appreciate trick or treating. Our branch was having a trunk or treat the night before and we thought it would be good practice. We brought along some friends and it turned out to be a fun night! Jack absolutely loved it and was so shocked that he got to keep all of his candy. He was well prepared for knocking on doors the next night...

Carving Pumpkins

For Family Home Evening I decided that it was time to carve the pumpkins. I was hoping that this year Jack would get more into it but sadly he still doesn't like the slimy stuff!

Sean thought that Jack would like to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas while we carved pumpkins. Let's just say it lasted about 2 minutes before we changed it to Charlie Brown and The Great Pumpkin.

Sarah's pumpkin and Sean's pumpkin

Truth...

Jack: Mom belly getting so big (as he rubs it)
Me: My belly is getting big huh?
Jack: Mommy shirt pop belly to big
Me: My belly is not that big.
Jack: Mommy shirt break, belly to big

He made up for it with this...

Jack: Baby come to live at Jack's house?
Me: Yes
Jack: Baby play with Jack's toys?
Me: Yes
Jack: I will share toys with baby, don't want cry.

Jack is still a third-person talker if you hadn't picked up on it...

Making way for baby...

Sean had Columbus day off, one benefit of working at a bank is that you get all of the random holidays off, and he promised me that he would help me with my to do list. I was getting anxious to get the nursery in order and to get Jack adjusted to his new room as soon as possible. And boy did Sean help me. We finished practically the whole list in one long day!! So after clearing all of Jack's stuff out of the nursery and getting both rooms all set up I am feeling more prepared for this little girl to come. We had some pretty funny moments from Jack through out the day, here are a few...

We think that Jack remembered playing with this toy as a baby. He set it up exactly like we used to, blanket and all. He is pretty smart.

I don't know if he was hiding from all the chaos or just thinking that we would pay better attention if he did something silly. Such as hiding in a tote and covering himself up. Either way he got our attention.

After setting up the bed and putting all of her clean clothes away Jack reported that there was too much pink!! At least she has somewhere to sleep!

Jack loves his new bed. We had it set up for a few days before we actually moved him in there. One day while I was showering he decided to move all of his toys and books into his new room and put them away on his new toy shelf exactly how they were on his old one. It was a pretty good indicator for me that we needed to fully move him in.

But I can now take a huge breath (well a few little ones since my lung capacity has shrunk immensely) of relief that if this baby comes early everything is ready for her!!

In preparation for conference we decided to head to St. George for a couple days with our friends the Moultons and Hales. We had tons of fun and wore the kids out really well!!

Our first stop was the Animal Tracks museum. Jack was little scared of the huge bears but for the most part just had fun with the binoculars.

I realized when we got home and I looked through all the pictures how often Sean (our designated camera man) tried to get pictures of me and my belly. So here is one.

After the museum and some yummy lunch we headed over to library square where they have fountains and a little "river" for kids to play in. It was a hit!

Me and Sean enjoying the fact that Jack is thoroughly entertained with the water.

Hailey, Kayla, Jack, Emma and Lucy. Jack loved being the only boy. That is until they wanted to play princesses.

Emma, Jack and Kayla completely exhausted from so much fun and ready to watch Tinkerbell.
